BATESVILLE – South Panola extended the nation’s longest current football winning streak to 79 games, beating Apopka, Fla., 28-18 on Friday night.

The game was seen nationally on the ESPNU network.

South Panola (4-0), ranked No. 18 by USA Today and higher by some other national analysts, led 21-18 at halftime.

South Panola’s nation’s best winning streak reached 79 games.

For the winners, Nicholas Parker rushed for more than 240 yards and four touchdowns.
